This is a sad but brave story. All religions have become professions, and like all professions there will be a certain number of practioners who chase power and wealth over purpose and ethics.

I suppose sometimes the best way to serve God and society is to forge our own independent path, which may seem difficult and long and lonely, but that’s the test. The students will find the teacher, if the teacher is authentic.

Ultimately, the only problem on Earth is human beings. How do we change ourselves to become God’s image, is the main test for all of us. Only when we heal ourselves can we help others heal, only when we improve ourselves can we ask others to change.

Our religious and professional practice (and personal conduct) should be the journey to that end. We often confuse the journey for the goal and therein lies the pitfall.

Best wishes.
