Since the young Jadon Sancho’s move from the glittery Premier League stardom to Germany took his career to new heights as he joined Manchester United, seeing his development now younger players are opting to move abroad rather than stay in the Premier League, as there they would be in the reserves or loaned out. The same can be said for Chukwunonso “Noni” Tristan Madueke or who is simply known as Noni Madueke.

Career Graph

Looking at his career graph, he joined Crystal Palace at the tender age of 9. Afterwards, he joined Tottenham Hotspur, captaining the U-16 side, and made his debut for the U-18 side at only the age of 15.

Seeing such raw talent big clubs were after him in the form of Chelsea, Celtic, and Manchester United, with Man Utd going as far as believing they got their man.

But seeing Sancho as motivation, he penned the deal with PSV in the Dutch League. Had he joined one of the big clubs he would be put in the reserves side or get loaned out. Hence, he moved abroad as he knows he will get a chance to play.

Enter PSV

But as they say, that path to success is curvy and topsy, same can be said for Madueke as after his move to PSV he played for both U-17 and U-19 teams. Seeing his performance he was promoted to Jong Ajax, which is the ‘B’ team. In that too, seeing his scintillating performance, after 6 games he was promoted to PSV’s first team.

However, he was not able to show his array of talent as the 2019/20 season was bought to a premature end due to the pandemic. But all was not dull and gloomy as the Dutch club managed to rope him until 2024.

This season he has scored 3 goals and has 3 assists.

Though he plays for England U-19, having Nigerian descent means that the Africans are trying to prise him away from the three lions setup.

Verdict

Madueke had the chance to join Manchester United as a 16 year old teen, considering he is huge supporter of Manchester United. But he opted out in favour of joining the Dutch side PSV where he could grow and hone his talents. Using Jadon Sancho as prime example Madueke decide to take the leap. Madueke has already caught attention of Arsenal. If he continues to perform at a higher level, expect big clubs lining up outside his door. We might see him in the EPL playing for a top club sooner than later.
