Final Idea and Recipe:
Cinnamint Cookies

I decided to improve upon my original Mint cookie Idea to Create “Cinnamint”. Mint and Cinnamon are similar in that they both produce very strong and distinct flavors. To combine them, they have to be balanced enough to where one flavor doesn’t mask the other. My inspiration came from looking though my spices back home. I quickly researched a Cinnamon-Mint cookie and realized it never reached popularity. I took up the challenge to make it work.
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Crush peppermint patties into a bowl thoroughly
- Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl. Soften the butter
- Add wet ingredients and mix well
- Put 12 scoops of dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 12 min
Idea Generation:
I originally tried to think way outside of the box with the idea generation, but I eventually had to narrow my ideas to what I thought would actually taste good. Scanning my pantry and fridge gave me most of my ideas for what I could either add to a regular cookie, or use as an entirely new cookie base. Below is a list of my original ideas, but after some thought and recommendations from friends, I narrowed the list down to my top three in which I thought I should experiment with (bold).
Cereal cookie, Hot sauce cookie, Pizza cookie, Breakfast cookie, Gummy cookie, Minty cookie, Neapolitan Cookie, Maple Syrup cookie, Pasta cookie, Cheese cookie, Candy cookie, Cake mix hybrid cookie, Margarita Cookie, Protein Powder cookie, Cream cheese cookie, Pop rocks cookie.
Idea Test 1:
Breakfast Cookies
Everyone loves breakfast food, but not everyone has the time in the morning to enjoy each and every one of their favorite foods. Wouldn't it be great if we could combine them all into one simple, bite-sized cookie? Introducing the Breakfast cookie. It combines oatmeal, cereal, and coffee all into one product. What could go wrong?
Instructions:

- Brew the coffee and preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl
- Add coffee and wet ingredients. Mix well
- Put 12 scoops of dough onto baking sheet and bake for 12 min.
Idea Test 2:
Minty Cookie
My inspiration for the Minty cookie came from my love of York Peppermint Patties. I figured since mint and chocolate go so well together, mint would work well in its own cookie. The patties had to be crushed and minced enough to where the mint flavor would be present throughout the body of the cookie, instead of staying in chunks.
Instructions:

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- Crush peppermint patties into a bowl thoroughly
- Mix in the dry ingredients. soften the butter
- Add wet ingredients and chocolate chips. Mix Well
- Put 12 scoops of dough onto a baking sheet and bake for 12 min

Iteration:
My roommates and I really enjoyed the Minty cookie idea after we had baked and sampled it. However, I felt as if I was missing a more creative component to the cookie. I still wanted to make something a little more unique. The test cookies were also all spongy, so I needed to fix that as well. The solution to both of these problems was to change up the ingredients. The amount of baking powder was changed from a quarter teaspoon to a third. The amount of flour was also bumped up a half cup. Lastly, the chocolate chips were dropped in favor of brown sugar, in which a half cup was added. The new Ingredients that were added were a third cup of cream cheese and a tablespoon of Cinnamon. These last two ingredients made the largest impact on the new output.

Timeline:
