What are you capable of?

No one can tell you what you are capable of but you. No one knows what you can accomplish. People can believe in you or they can try and bring you down; but only you know what you can achieve.

Anything you are willing to put time and effort into is something you can do. You might not do it the same way as everyone else, you probably wont take the same path to get there, but, I promise you can do it.

The choice is yours — and if you don’t want to do it, that is okay too.

You do not have to do everything. Every moment you spend thinking about what someone else is doing and how they got there. Every moment you spend being jealous of someone else’s accomplishment is a moment you wasted not accomplishing what you want to do.

Your success will not come from trying to be like someone else. Your success will not come from copying someone else’s journey. Your success will come from embracing the person that you are, the things that you are good at. It will come from your experiences, your personality and your willingness to try.

Do not waste your time trying to be all the things to all the people. Figure out who you are and what you want to be and head in that direction. But do it as you. Don’t do it as someone else.

If someone tells you to speak quieter, to dress differently, to act more like someone else…you do not have to listen.

If they tell you that you have to learn something, or know something, or have experience in something…you do not have to listen.

If people compare you to someone else, if they claim your success is because of your gender, or your age, or anything else…you do not have to listen.

There will always be someone who is afraid of your success. They will try to take it away from you, or make you feel like you don’t deserve it. Not because you are successful, but because they are afraid they wont be.

Every minute you spend doubting yourself, every second you spend comparing yourself to someone else is a moment you have lost.

If you want to contribute something to this world, if you want to leave a positive impression, spend your time being the best person you can be. Focus on what you can contribute, don’t try to be someone you are not.

Along the way, be a good person. Help as many people find what they can do as you can. The more people doing what they are meant to do, the better the world will be. The sooner someone finds out what their direction is, the less time they will lose being jealous, creating conflict or putting other people down. Be good so others can be good too.

Be the best person you can be by just being you.

This is what I tell myself every day. You might not always believe in yourself, but you can try.
