Viennese chronicles of an unvaccinated

I am of Italian and Austrian heritage and split my time between Rome and Vienna. Ten days ago, I escaped from the Italian capital to Austria, fed up with the hate campaign instigated by Italian Prime Minister, Mario Draghi, and the mainstream Italian media, against the unvaccinated.
From the blood test which I had a few months ago, I know that I have antibodies against the disease. My doctor told me that I had probably contracted COVID and had not noticed that I was infected. Furthermore, he added, were I to have a vaccine, it could potentially cause me more harm than provide any benefit. In Austria, as in Switzerland, a high level of antibodies is accepted by the state as evidence of immunity, which grants me the right to lead a normal life. As soon as I arrived in Vienna I took the test again and was pleased to find that I still had a high level of antibodies.
Unfortunately, last week, Austrian regulations changed in response to a spike in Covid cases in western Austria. This led to intensive care units in various hospitals filling with patients. The unstable Schallenberg government, which has recently replaced the Sebastian Kurz administration under investigation for embezzlement, has entered a state of near panic. It is about to impose the most draconian lockdown in Europe. This will be followed by a mandatory vaccination program, which will start in February 2022. The cause of this scorched earth response is that Austria has a vaccination rate only 3% lower than the U.K. But the vaccines, which for months were portrayed as the final solution appear to provide only temporary protection against severe illness and to be incapable of stopping the contagion process. The present skyrocketing, infection numbers in Ireland and Gibraltar prove this.
Instead of admitting that the vaccines have failed to achieve the stated objectives, both the Italian and Austrian governments have decided to target an easy scapegoat: the minority, who for various reasons, have chosen to remain unvaccinated. Only despotic countries such as Turkmenistan have introduced similar measures to those which are being implemented in Austria. In his legislative fury, Schallenberg even abolished the regulation which permitted people like me, who have high antibodies following an asymptomatic infection, to be free from quarantine restrictions.

A viennese friend of mine told me: “ The situation has become very unpleasant. People in my building are pointing the finger at me because they know I am not vaccinated. They look at me with contempt. I fear that if the government implements a vaccine obligation, I will be denounced right away.”
In the last weeks, I have lived a relatively unfettered existence. I have spent time in the cosy cafes for which Vienna is famous. I always carry a document, which shows the results of my antibody tests. But in the wake of the new regulations, I am at risk of being fined. It is disturbing to sit in a restaurant and to keep looking anxiously at the door in case a policeman comes in to check papers. It brings back memories of WW2 movies in which fugitives are trying to hide from the Gestapo. And even though I have recovered from Covid and have antibodies, I may be considered a potential threat because I am unvaccinated.

When I recently left a café, I noticed a large poster in which the Mayor of Vienna, Michael Ludwig, wearing a big smile on his bullish face, was promoting vaccinations for children as young as five. This brought back memories of the film: `TheThird Man’ in which children in hospitals were treated with fake medicines with terrible consequences. Is there not something very wrong about injecting experimental genetic therapies into children who are hardly affected by the virus? I know of children, who have ended up in hospital on account of heart problems connected to the anti-Covid vaccine. But I know of no children who have had a problem with the disease itself. Taiwan has ceased vaccinating people under 20 years old and even the WHO disapproves of vaccinating children. It is hard to understand what is going through the Mayor of Vienna’s mind.
In fact, mandatory vaccination goes against Resolution 2361/2021 of the Council of Europe and Regulation 2121/953 of the European Parliament, which expressly state that there should be no discrimination between the vaccinated and the unvaccinated.. Even more seriously, the Austrian government’s radical vaccination policies collide with Article 1 of the Nuremberg code of 1947, which prohibits medical experimentation without consent. According to Pfizer itself, the experimental phase of their product ends only in 2023. In the case of Pfizer, we are talking about a pseudo-vaccine. For it is a new genetic therapy as stated by Stephan Oelrich on the managing board of Bayer, at the last World Health Summit. ” We call them vaccines only to convince people to get jabbed. They would not if we called them by their real name of genetic therapy.”

In the wake of these drastic and divisive decisions by the Austrian government, a huge demonstration organized by various parties, including the right- wing Freedom Party, the third largest in the Austrian parliament, and by the new MFG/ Human and Basic Rights/ opposition party, took place last Saturday in the centre of Vienna. The crowds arrived around midday. Many came from the mountainous provinces, where there is a strong attachment to natural and homeopathic healing practices. Forty thousand people were expected, but soon the Heldenplatz, where Hitler declared the annexation of Austria to the Third Reich in front of the Imperial Palace, was full of protesters, some in Tyrolean costumes playing drums, trumpets and alpine horns. “ Widerstand , Widerstand’. — Resistance. Resistance — was the main slogan. The police in charge of enforcing coronavirus regulations, which require the wearing of face masks and social distancing, soon gave up. The crowd was so large that it was deemed wiser to avoid provocation. One inflammatory speech after another followed. Particularly touching was a nurse’s contribution. Almost weeping and in a broken voice, she adressed herself to her patients:,“I am so sorry. I wish I could take care of you, but if the authorities force me to administer this genetic therapy, I will have to quit my job as will hundreds of my colleagues.”
The Austrian government should take notice as the situation in the hospitals could become dire through the lack of personnel. When the speeches ended, the huge crowd formed into a column. The police were powerless. They retreated, limiting themselves to monitoring the crowd. Several police unions supported the demonstration officially and many policemen sympathized with the protest. The people eventually formed an enormous snake, which totally encircled the city, paralyzing it for hours.

When night fell, news of violent clashes in Holland and in Paris spread. In Vienna, however, thanks to the police’s pacific strategy, everything proceeded smoothly. The crowd, which was carrying hundreds of torches, was allowed to protest under the window of the Chancellery. Shadows cast by the flames danced on the walls of the palaces of power. This would have been unthinkable in Paris or Rome. A small cordon of policemen separated the Chancellery from the crowd. For now, Prime Minister Schallenberg has been spared the consequences of his foolhardy polarising decisions. Mesmerized by the walpurgian dances of the torches, I wondered what would happen if he really did implement a general vaccine obligation.
Is there a hidden plan to provoke a civil war in Europe? If Vienna, the heart of Europe, starts burning, the rest of the continent will soon follow suit.
