How to setup Cox email account in Windows 10?

If you have a new laptop or computer with a windows 10 in it and you want to setup your Cox email account in windows in the mail application of the windows 10 you need to follow the instructions and the details given below:

Open the start menu

Select the mail app in the menu

Click on the settings (Gear icon)

Click on the option, Manage accounts

Then click on Add account

Click on Advance setup

Click on Internet mail

You need to provide the following details:

Email address: It should be the complete email address e.g. myaccount@cox.net

Username: It is the Cox user ID without cox.net

Password: The password of your Cox email account

Account name: This is the display name for your email account

Your name: Your name as it appears in the sent emails

Incoming email server: Enter the Cox IMAP server settings here

Account type: Select IMAP 4

Outgoing (SMTP) email server: Enter the Cox SMTP server settings here

Check the following boxes:

Outgoing server requires Authentication

Use the same username and password for sending the emails

Require SSL for incoming and outgoing emails

After that you have to click on Sign in and then click on Done

Cox IMAP server settings details are as follows:

Account type: IMAP

Incoming mail settings

Server name: imap.cox.net

Port number: 993

Enable SSL

Use SSL or TLS : Yes and also need Cox username and password

Outgoing mail settings

Server name: smtp.cox.net

If the encryption is SSL/LS or TLS use port 587

If the encryption is SSL use port 465 and check the box of authentication

These are the setting details for the IMAP server which you need to enter whenever required while setting up your Cox email account in Windows 10 device.
