Once upon a time, in the year 2020, there was a very bored girl. She was as bored as bored could be. Now you must be wondering, did she not have anything to do? Well, she did, but she just did not do those. It was the time when people stayed home, doors stayed closed, and classes were online. Time was plenty and activities scarce.

This very bored girl was hell-bent on working part-time and using her free time to earn. She applied for numerous internships and tele-calling jobs, but got selected for none.

Until one day, she did. She got a call for an internship on a website where she could write about so many different topics. The more she wrote, the more she learnt. From Keyword research, placement, and density to the nuances of editing, it was a journey that ignited something even she didn’t know existed.

My writing journey was not inspired, it was fuelled by the need to do something different, something new. Boredom has always been a friend of mine, and transient hobbies were a constant part of my life.

When I started writing, it was like a pill that solved multiple problems —

  • Boredom ✅
  • Learning something new every day as a replacement for frequently changing hobbies ✅
  • Keeping me from the insanity of lockdown ✅ (Although I have and always will be a homebody)
  • Part-time income as a student ✅

And that is Day 2 of the 30-Day Writing Challenge. See you tomorrow!

Let me know in the comments how you started writing!
