VR Will Break Museums

A nice point of view. VR is slowly maturing to bring the experiences which are not possible or come at a premium in real life.
Augmented Reality (AR), on the other hand, might be the museums’ salvation. Just imagine pointing your Smartphone camera on an artefact and watch it completely reconstructed (digitally) or even come alive, taking you back to history. Taking your Submarine example, an AR app can translate all the labels to the language of your choice, or the app guiding you to the most interesting things in the museum. The possibilities are endless, and there’s still some way to go. Though I agree that doesn’t solve the crowd problem.
