Butterfly Effect

A boy and a girl accidentally clash with each other and the boy notices the girl for the first time and goes head over heels to get her. The crowd applauds , as the girl says yes to this boy, after a melodious song.

Same sequence happens again.

Another guy gets a glimpse of the same girl. He approaches her with same feelings but our girl accuses him of harassment. An interchange of dialogue takes place, where she proves her chastity and his lewdness. The crowd applauds once again.

This is how we get our villain.

If you have ever been to a Bollywood movie, you will find the male protagonist shamelessly hitting on the female protagonist of the story in the initial part. She tries to block his advancements but it is shown in a different color. We, as audience, are forced to believe beyond doubt that even though a girl says NO to a relationship, it only means the boy should try again.

Educated mass knows that this thing happens only in movies and literate guys drop this idea after one rejection. But what about guys who are not educated? What if they are the biggest and maddest fan of our protagonist? These uneducated guys take everything on face value. They start stalking the girl and a big melodrama ensues.

Go to any tier II or tier III city in India and you will find these kind of people in hordes. They don't have proper education and hence they are naturally unemployed. They always congregate near a kiosk as they have all the time to kill. They stalk innocent girls, spread rumors about them and pass comments on them. They will always have a bike or some sort of two wheeler which they show off in their desperate attempt to woo a girl. Some girls who get into the traps of these boys, are the most unfortunate ones. Sometimes these boys create videos of them getting intimate with their girlfriend and spread it in their friend circle. This video makes way into the notorious porn sites and the girls usually end up in committing a suicide. Sometimes these boys grope girls and women walking on the street.

Parents of such boys are least bothered about their lads. I feel parents should always ask their children, what they are doing and which kind of company they are keeping. They should make every effort to know where exactly their sons and daughters are spending time. Atleast they should stop their children from ruining life of others. Here parenting plays a very big role.

I have observed a pattern. If parents aren't respectable enough in the eyes of their children, then children barely listen to them. They start disobeying the morals set by their parents and society because their own parents have disobeyed the laws of society. An abusive alcoholic father never gets the respect from his children. He even sets a bad example for his children. Similarly a mother who betrays her husband sets a bad example for her children. These kind of parents are unable to reproach their children from bad habits because their children know about their darkest secrets.

A corrupt government official or a business person can never ask his son or daughter about a few thousand bucks that goes missing from the locker every week. S/he cannot answer the counter question from his/her children.

Where from this lumpsum amount of money came at first place ?

Their children know this thing. Hence they take advantage of this situation and spend lavishly. Some day they come home intoxicated and their parents hide this thing from the society instead of taking proper action. These people can never command respect from their children.

I appeal to our society and to these neglecting parents to start taking notice of their actions. Don't set bad examples for our society and our children.

Even an innocent flutter from a butterfly can raise a storm.
