You Can’t Fix Education
Hank Green

Hank, this is such a great article. I completely agree with you that there is no perfect solution to the education crisis because at best it’s agile and community-driven. Would you agree that the essence of great education is bringing brilliant, passionate teachers in a classroom together with a healthy peer group, supported by parents and peers? There’s a magic that happens when a group of students comes physically together with a passionate, intelligent teacher. I also feel that community-driven, free education is vital is we are to help education be what it was meant to be, a powerful force for democracy and equality. If you have a moment, I’d like to invite you to take a look at what we’re doing to empower independent teachers to innovate in education and create new opportunities where there is scarcity in their communities. It’s a community marketplace called CottageClass. I would welcome the opportunity to continue this discussion and explore ways we might be able to collaborate.
