Politics & Politicians.

I have always believed that “Politics” was something that nobody can clearly define.

Sometimes, the definition changes by country.

Always having been disgusted by my country’s weird and greedy Politicians, I had always assumed that politicians and political debates were obviously more civilized in the developed nations.

Boy, was I surprised!

Just yesterday, I was watching the Second Presidential Debate of 2016 and I was both in shock and in awe. A great and powerful country like America… Instead of discussing the future and what they plan to do for their citizens, they were talking about the sexual scandals!

I mean… Out of 320 million people, why choose the two people who would ruin the amazing country’s image like this?

“Locker-room talk” he said. I couldn’t help but think how a 59-year old can still have locker-room talk?! My grandfather, with his very little education and a simple job, spoke about Politics, Atheism, Education for women, when he was at home or with his peers. Then there is this old man, a business tycoon and a self-proclaimed celebrity, who spoke about women like they were a piece of meat and thinks he can get away with it by saying it’s “Locker-room talk”.

Most of the times during the debate that ran for 1 hour 20 minutes, the answers to the questions raised by the audience/online poll/hosts were far-off from the point! Half the time, I was screaming inside my head, “Answer the question that was asked!!”

It is probably not my place to say this.

But I would request, not only the People of America, but also everybody who have the right to vote, to choose their candidates carefully. Don’t vote because she is a woman and you are a feminist. Don’t vote because he promises to eradicate “Islamic radical movements” (whatever that means…).

Vote for someone who will not sell you out.

Above all, vote for a better tomorrow.
