Nowadays, it feels like Google is trying to be the perfect example of Newton’s Third Law of Motion i.e. “For Every Action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”. As soon as you start typing any keyword on Google which is targeted by a marketer for promotion of their product or service, suddenly you’ll feel the whole web is conspiring to help that marketer communicate his/her product or service with you.

Well, the human psychology (common sense too) says a person is more likely to react to a situation if their mind can relate to it which means when you are searching for anything like diapers, restaurants, cars, travel, etc. and a you are offered a relevant product or a service, you are more likely to fall for it (popularly known as click bait) or the way marketers sugar wraps it you will click through the link.

But this phenomenon was only restricted to text inputs that you made on the search engines and to the extent, data that the cookies gave out to the marketers. Have you ever thought you would see ads based on the photos you share on the social media platforms like Twitter, Instagram or Facebook? The marketer inside you would be going WOW!! That’s a cool idea!

Well, that is a reality now as Cluep are providing such services to some of their elite clients such as CocaCola, Walmart, McDonalds, Mercedes etc.

Cluep has come up with a product that uses a proprietary image recognition engine to learn, in real-time, from every image it sees to identify brands, products, and scenarios to effectively engage people based on their interest, activities, and lifestyle. The platform offers marketers great options to filter by platform, products, brands, demographics and location. Marketers can identify their audience based on the pictures they share and throw relevant ads at the right time.

For ex: If Burger King wants to keep a check on who is visiting their competitors, let’s say McDonalds, all they need to do is use the Cluep Pics product and filter photos with brand name or logo of McDonalds in the pic somewhere. They can then target the prospect with small video ads next time they access any of the mobile websites and platforms.

Cluep Pics right now is in beta stage and can only access photos that are publicly available. So, if users have kept their profile private on Instagram, the platform won’t be able to target those profiles. Also, privacy minded people can opt out from the website. The only way iPhone users can opt out is by disabling all the ads from their phone and not just on Cluep.

Cluep has successfully managed to attract marketers because of their ingenuity and sheer innovation. They have managed to attain higher CTR than the industry norms, and have managed to provide exceptional conversion rate to their clients at significantly lower Cost to drive.

Also, they have taken Facebook’s prediction very seriously that there will be visuals only by 2021 and have already announced to launch a video tool by the end of 2018! Thus, next time you see an ad based on the photo you have shared on Instagram or Facebook, don’t be amazed.
