Why the poor stay poor

Its not that they are lazy.

Thank you for raising the profile of the authors.

Their first book Scarcity why having too little means too much should be mandatory reading for every politician, and anyone involved in government, law and welfare.

If your mental bandwidth/attention is focused on just surviving the moment, how can you ever get to making good decisions. Decision fatigue and ego depletion can result in poor decisions be it food, education etc.

Context determines what you focus your attention on.

And you often make poor decisions to avoid the pain or the effort of difficult choices.

Governments and countries that understand this can improve both the economic wellbeing and happiness of their citizens.

You may find the following blog which includes a video of the authors on their book scarcity.

Once again many thanks for an excellent article and an update to their original work.
