I began writing on Medium in November 2019 after learning that having a Stripe account allowed me to receive payments for my writing. In those days, I was writing for clients who had large and established blogs, getting paid a fair sum of money for the few articles I wrote each month.

In December, I received an email from Medium saying that they would no longer be paying me due to Payoneer issues in the country that I live in. My interest waned, and since I was already very busy, I decided to stop publishing content on this site.

I did like Medium though, especially the clean, user-friendly interface that enabled me to focus on writing. I was impressed to see quality content being put out by writers from various countries all over the world.

Medium was very unique, and sure, there were many websites that tried to copy the same formula but not with much success.

But I did not begin my writing journey with Medium. Let me backtrack a bit here.

Over 15 years ago, when I was getting bored in the office one day, I stumbled upon a site called Associated Content while browsing the web on my laptop.

Back then, it was one of the more popular sites for writers because it allowed the use of affiliate links.
