How to read: Tools of Titans by Tim Ferriss

This past week, I got Tim Ferriss’ new book Tools of Titans. At first sight it looks overwhelming due to its size, and since its not a narrative book, it is a little complicated to keep up at first. Don’t worry though, I will tell you how to get started.

Tools of Titans is divided in 4 sections that offer advise and testimonials on:

  • Health
  • Wealth
  • Wisdom
  • Tim Own Notes

As Tim mentions in his own words, this book is a buffet. You may opt to read it from beginning to the end or jump from profile to profile randomly. The problem of reading it this way is that you may get lost really easy and its difficult to follow up.

If you really want to make the most out of it, I think there is simpler way:

Choose to read one chapter from one section a day. You can always do two or three, but since these chapters talk about practical advise and testimonials, you may want to read one at a time.

I recommend you to start with the Healthy section, the second day jump to the Wealthy section and so on. This way you´ll be getting day by day advise and testimonials from very successful people on this three areas of life.

So for example:

Monday — Healthy Chapter

Tuesday — Wealthy Chapter

Wednesday — Wise Chapter

And repeat…

After reading each chapter take a moment to meditate on it and get your own conclusions. Feel free to take notes and put in practice whatever feels appealing to you. By reading Tools of Titans using this daily schema, you´ll get the chance to really experiment and test some of the teachings presented in the book. Don’t rush on it and use this book as a guide you can always come back to.

Use 3 bookmarks, one for each section, to keep track of your pages.

I hope you enjoy this amazing book. Please leave your comments if you have any other tips on how to make the most out of this reading.
