Horizen, privacy, and mixity — or why I am deeply in love with this project!

Have you ever had the chance to watch one of the Horizen live streams? Did you notice that every month you have the opportunity to travel all around the world thanks to the team?
Then you are a super community member!

Five Continents, One Vision

Horizen is present in every continent. From Mexico to Japan, passing through the United States, Benin, Ghana, United Kingdom, and China (and this is not exhaustive). We have community and team members around the world all dedicated to the same cause: bringing privacy to life.
Privacy is an issue for many people, no matter where you come from, or where you live; our rights are reduced more and more everyday. Cameras are multiplying on the streets, the internet is tracking us more and more, payment methods evolve to such an extent that it becomes impossible to be discreet or even to make a surprise. And if we talk about free speech, that’s the same challenge. Everywhere our word is diminished. In some countries you can go to jail if you disagree with politics, you can get fired if you disagree with your boss (You can also get divorced if you disagree with your wife/husband, but that’s another story!). We believe that another world is possible, being private is being free.
What I want to say is that the need of privacy is unifying and at Horizen we were able to find people all around the world that were sensible to question the dwindling privacy in today’s world. Privacy and digital freedom is a goal, a vision of the future, an optimistic vision of this future that bring us together. We are strengthened by our diversity and our passion in common.

A Strong and Worldwide Community

This mixity is reflected in our community. And to have a proof of that you can go in our Discord and check on our international channels, you can find 25 of them!
Are you Korean, or maybe Serbian, and you want to operate a node? Our team and community members will be there to answer all of your questions! How many crypto projects have this mixity in languages? How many crypto projects you can find answers in Korean, Swahili, Persian, Spanish and Polish?
Also, if you speak another language and you want to contribute to the building of Horizen, you are welcome, and we can’t wait to have you on our community. Because Horizen is worldwide and inclusive.

15% Women, 100% Mixity

Privacy isn’t only for men! Our team is 15% of women. And it’s easy to see how happy they are to be part of Horizen!
Women bring another vision, another style to privacy. I don’t like to make a separation between men and women, but when your are in an industry where only 10% of women are present; it is heartwarming to see that in some projects (well, Horizen one!) you can find nearly 15%. )
That tells us that we are unified no matter where we come from and no matter what we are.
Most of our women are in the marketing team but also in BD, and in the head office. Okay, we have no women in dev team, but we will be really happy to add some. Are you a dev girl? Apply to Horizen right now!

And you, where are you from? Are you a woman or a man ? What can you bring to privacy?
