Thanks a lot community member friend for the HUGE help writing this article!

Horizen and Transparency

The Horizen Team is known as one of the most transparent in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries. Each day, we witness many examples of what doesn’t work and how a lack of transparency can alienate a project’s community and drive them away because they feel discouraged to actively participate. The lack of transparency can ultimately fast track the demise of a good project, especially now when only the strongest can survive.

Transparency and open communication within your community is crucial for the success of every project and the team is aware of this. Horizen has always been a project with a very active and vibrant community, and we actively engage with the community through various efforts.

Originally, we held biweekly updates. In most cases, the update lasted over one hour. The demand on the team’s time was very intense, after consulting with the community we decided to do a monthly update instead. With more room for work, updates evolved into live video updates with active community involvement and a live Q&A session.

The latest idea from the team was to open our team calls to the public, and our community welcomed this idea. During our open poll about opening team calls we received over 400 votes and nearly everyone voted yes!

Why Open Team Calls?

The main difference between the monthly live update and public team calls are the duration and frequency. The calls are once a week and approximately thirty minutes each. From our standpoint this enables us to be more transparent with our community, but that was not the only driving factor behind the decision. With more frequent calls, our community members are more able to attend. The feedback and communication with our community allows us to better serve their needs, which is incredibly important to our team.

The first publicly open call was held on 15/8/19 . There were many community members on the call, which tells us that our team is doing the right thing! Since it was a first, there were a few flaws, which is expected, but the team is counting on community support and feedback to improve it.

Please share your thoughts with us. What would you like to be improved? What do you think about the team’s decision. Do will you join our public calls? All feedback is welcomed. Let us know via social media or in the comments below!
