Pia Wurtzbach paid homage to the past Filipina Miss Universe winners, including herself, wearing four distinct gowns that represent all of them.

The Miss Universe 2015 titleholder made sure to stun the crowd — in style — as she hosted the Miss Universe Philippines coronation night on Saturday, Apr. 30.

To pay tribute, Pia Wurtzbach shared a series of Instagram photos, uploaded in four different categories, in honor of Gloria Diaz, Margie Moran, Queen Pia herself, and Catriona Gray.

The beauty queen donned a white Mark Bumgarner gown to celebrate the 1969 Miss Universe winner, Gloria Diaz.

“An ode to the white gown Gloria Diaz, the Philippines’ first Miss Universe, wore when she was asked in 1969 what she would do when the first man on the moon visited Manila,” she wrote in the caption.

Wurtzbach added that the “look is a message for every woman to be unafraid to reach for the moon and say yes to her dreams & new adventures.”

In Full Bloom

In her first outfit change, Pia wore Jaggy Glarino while “taking cues” from Miss Universe 1973 Margie Moran — in full bloom.

“Taking cues from the iconic flower pinned on Margie Moran’s gown when she was crowned Miss Universe back in 1973, we want to showcase the woman in full bloom,” she stated, adding: “In a hue that’s brighter than the sun, we’re reinventing what pageant swimsuit shots could look like with this offbeat one-piece number that unapologetically highlights a woman’s curves.”

Meanwhile, Pia Wurtzbach brought back her 2015 victory through a blue Louis Pangilinan fit.

“We’re taking wearing the crown to the next level — not just on top of our heads, but as an embodiment of how every woman should be celebrated whatever size, shape, or age she is,” the caption reads.

Her red ensemble was a nod to the 2018 Miss Universe winner, Catriona Gray, who won the title in Thailand while wearing the legendary lava gown.

“Inspired by Catriona Gray’s winning color in Miss Universe 2018, we want every woman to feel like she is a phoenix rising who is fierce, feminine, and fabulous in everything that she does,” she said.

BJ Pascual shot the photos, with creative direction from Eldzs Mejia.

Pia, Iris Mittenaere, and Demi-Leigh Tebow co-hosted the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 crowning. Catriona Gray and Harnaaz Sandhu were also present.
