Don’t Get Beats In The Head

Unboxing the Powerbeats 2 Wireless:

So I went out and spent $200 on headphones, WHO DOES THAT!?!? Well apart from me, it turns out many others! But why? Well I just had to find out: is it just all marketing hoopla or do they really put out sound?

The Packaging:

Ok so I’ve got to say the box is really sexy, the dark blacks and deep accented reds are very attractive. Lebron James appears on the side of the box in deep thought along with the words “sound is energy”. The energy message is suppose to remind you what these headphones are meant to deliver high quality sound and long lasting durability for the your daily workouts.

The Unboxing:

At first sight it only looks like there is one way to extract these headphones from the box, CHAIN SAW BUZZING! But just then, I noticed this little and almost unnoticeably hidden arrow at the bottom of the box. Why, what ever does that do…?

I slowly pull it back as if it may unlock a booby trap. However, it turns out it was the answer to avoiding complete destruction. Immediately upon opening the box the first thing I notice are the words “Charge me up” reminding me that these are indeed wireless. Good move Beats, I may have forgotten that these are supposed to be missing a cord. The box it self is nice and durable, if you want to sell or re-gift these for someone else in the future. Although, who would want to put your sweaty bacteria fill head sets on their face? ME! If it works and I get them for $20!!!

Inside The Box:

Inside the box is a small carrying case matching the color of the headphones. However, the case isn’t breathable, so I wouldn’t want to place my sweat filled headphones in a dark enclosed surrounding unless I am a growing bacterium for penicillin usage. I wonder what the market for that is like…? Also included is the how to manual, the small plastic ear bud covers, and a pretty cool looking micro USB charging cable, with red accents.

The Product:

Before I can test them I have to sit and wait for them to charge for 15mins… so how is your day going?……….. Ok, ok, so here is the moment everyone waits for: the sound. Now I must say, I love hip hop, so I’m hoping the bass is dope, na wha I mean son!? So it’s now 2 days later, and after trying on the headset the feel was comfortable and weight wasn’t an issue. However, the sound was very disappointing. Don’t expect the same sound as the Beats Solo 2, or the Apple o.e.m headphones that come in the box with your newly purchased iPhone. They are great for the gym, but that’s about it. For the price however, you can find something better, as for me, I’m returning mine.
