Run Away From Social Media

The downside of moving from Southern to Northern Europe is my higher exposure to technology, especially social media.

It looks like people here are more attached to their phones, spending loads of time hooked on a screen and failing to notice anything else around them.

Since we tend to copy what others do, this has affected terribly the time I spend on my own device!

The lack of communication and social interaction, the awful weather and the dull daily routine inevitably lead me to constantly check my phone, mainly out of boredom.

What’s worse I have witnessed kids, only as young as 5–6 years old, doing the same like me, scrolling endlessly on their phone screens, screens that look enormous compared to their tiny fingers. Even toddlers are being handed over tablets by their parents in order to stay calm and quiet.

I can not stop thinking how lucky I am that all these smart devices did not exist when I was young!

Now they are everywhere, dictating our lives and minds.
