Here Comes The Sun

Today, I witnessed something I have always wanted to see. A full eclipse of the sun. It was not what I thought it would be like and yet it was magnificent.

The most amazing thing to me was the change in the light. At one point in time it was absolutely surreal. The light took on a strange otherworldly effect.

Truly the best thing was the friends who I got to experience this with. Having been able to share this experience with family and friends made it so much more special.

A year ago I lost my stepmother and just before that my nephew. I thought of both of them today and literally saw a car just like mom’s drive down my street. Lets me know she was here with us.

There are only a handful of us left in the family. My stepbrother Roger’s children and grandchildren are so precious. One just born and another on the way lets me know it all goes on. In a beautiful way.

What happened in the last few days has been way more important than the eclipse itself. The laughter, the love and friendship shared. This is what life is made of.
