Big Texas News of the Week

SXSL & Austin Startup Week Recap

Many Texas startup people started their week in Washington DC for the first ever SXSL South By South Lawn conference run by SXSW and the White House: A Peek Inside SXSL: A Festival at the White House and local TV coverage with Divinc’s Ashley Jennings

A huge congratulations are in order to Jacqueline Hughes and her team for Austin Startup Week. The week was completely packed with interesting events all over Austin, including several other separate programs such as the second annual Texas Venture Summit, the Veteran-oriented BunkerLabs Muster in Austin [incredibly well executed by Sabrina Marshall-Wojtewicz, Johnathan Wojtewicz and pictured below] with lots of support from Joseph Kopser and Craig Cummings.

and the inaugural Capital Factory Mentor and Founder Summits. Yes that’s plural — there were two separate Capital Factory events during Startup Week that were expertly planned and executed by the staff (especially Areej Rabie, Sarah Menicucci and Holly Jamison).

The 11th ATX Startup Crawl on Thursday night brought out thousands of startup enthusiasts to see hundreds of startup companies and was a complete success — here are the kandid.ly pictures to prove it. The next one will be even bigger as an official event for SXSW in 2017.
