SXSW is Here!

  1. Insiders Guide to SXSW Interactive 2017
  2. Curated VIP / Invite-Only Events
  3. Add Your Name, if you will be in Austin

SXSW is in full swing here in Austin and yes, it’s both exhausting and exhilarating. For the first two days of Interactive, the vibe has been very positive. The crowds have been tame / mostly sober and lines are short — this may be a result of 24 tracks of programming being spread out all over downtown and the East Side. The only consistent gripe is that there is too much to see and do.

There hasn’t been a clear ‘winner’ — something so big that everyone is talking about it yet, but the fact is we haven’t seen that kind of huge break out since Twitter in 2007 or the Foursquare launch a year later. If you had to select any trend that’s getting the most attention in a crowded field of ideas, it would probably have to be Artificial Intelligence and its various permutations, specifically Chatbots. Smart Cities, Food Tech, Fintech, Blockchain, AR/VR and Robotics are the other through lines that people and panels are talking about consistently. Don’t believe anyone who tells you that SXSW is in decline as a few articles have mentioned. — It continues to be the very best place in Texas and maybe the US to learn interesting things, see Internet thought leaders and meet new people.

We’re hosting OpenCoffee Club: SXSW Edition on Tue. March 14th at 9:00am to 10:45am.

Join us for Austin’s best entrepreneurs, breakfast tacos (Tacodeli), and espresso (Houndstooth), all under one roof at one of Austin’s most amazing office spaces, Atlassian Austin. More Info
