Healthy snacks: Power balls

Delicious, energetic and ready to grab-and-go.

I like to call this “power balls” because they will give you all the necessary energy to start your day and they are a powerful source of happiness at the same time. Lets face it, nuts and chocolate: I can see you smiling already ;)

You will need:

  • 1 cup medjool dates
  • 1 cup mixed nuts
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 tablet 70% dark chocolate to drizzle if desired.

Soak the raisins in hot water before you start.
Ground the oats and nuts in the food processor to get a flour consistency. Save aside.

Drain the water from the raisins and process them with the dates till they form a dense dough.

Time to get your hands dirty: combine the oat/nut flour with the dates and raisins. Mix and smash everything with your hands until you have a consistent dough.

To form the balls you might want to wet your hand with a little water, once you finish let the power balls settle in the fridge for about 30 mins.
Now is the time to drizzle them with some melted chocolate or eat them as they are!

Great idea for a party, I'm sure your kids will love it and even if you are not a healthy bunny, I bet you won't resist them :D
