Of course, libertarians are not beyond the law. (I am def’ not libertarian myself). There is one problem though with weighing the crime. With drugs you have two criminal activities: the sale and the violence that often goes with the sale. In the great scope of things Silk Road probably reduced the amount of violence by taking the sale off the streets. It is still against the law but there is a moral point. There will be no world without illegal substances. Destroying the Silk Roads might lead to more violence on the streets. Who wants to judge? Who wants to decide? Silk Road et al puts a question-mark on our attitude towards drugs. What is right and what is just?
