Thanks for the chainalysis link. I have mixed feelings about the sentencing. Ross broke the law and that is that. On the other hand it was certainly biased and way to heavy. I think there should be a re-trial, but there won’t. The tough thing (and were justice is blind) is, that it is very likely that silk road and the other platforms actually reduce violent crime. He was not so much prosecuted for his deeds but for the threat he posed. Silkroad takes the violence out of drugs, makes it a business, makes drugs cleaner which gives the war on drugs a bad rep, “abuses” the postal services and delivers drugs under the nose of the feds and was creating the fear that with Bitcoin you could stage the perfect crime, outside the financial control of the state.
