Letters to my Sister in Japan — Day 32

Dear Sister,

I’ve been racking my brain trying to think of something you’d actually want to read in these letters. I’ve noticed that I just post tons of philosophical mumbo-jumbo and plenty of things about my what’s going on in my life, and while that’s all well and good, I feel like you’d be bored reading it.

We’re approaching a month since the last time I spoke with you on the phone. I may ask you for your thoughts on these letters and your plans for the summer are.

My summer plans include travelling abroad and visiting new lands, foreign countries. Remember when we went to Rome with the family? I wonder how my brother felt being trapped with us for most of the trip. He didn’t really have a chance to party or do anything “fun” in the way that he likes to have fun. Were all of us there except for the Big Gorilla/Romano/Whatever You Want To Call Number 2? I think my favorite part of the whole trip to Rome was touring the basilica with Grandma. I’d imagine it was a big deal for her. It was her last big trip, and she was just in awe the whole time. The Vatican was a huge deal for her and I’m glad you and the others were able to make it happen for her.

Actually, now that I think about it, we went to so many places during those few years. We went to New York, your other sister’s graduation, Europe, and I would have gone with everyone to Guadalajara but your family is ridiculous.

All in all, I think you guys instilled in me a love of travel that I benefit from to this very day. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to see the world with you guys. The experiences have made me a more well-rounded person.

Your Little Brother
