Yeah I think that’s a great approach. You can even take it a step further and not even ask for the email address until later in the proces. This is referred to as a “lazy signup” and works best in situtations where the user invests time into creating content which they want to save. For example Medium could allow guests to write articles and require registration only when one wants to publish their article.
Which approach is best really depends on the situtation, but it’s definitely advisable to explore these different options rather than defaulting to requiring immediate email confirmation.
