What I found I could do was to transition from having to buy the cheapest couch/whatever to the best deal I can afford. Usually that means the slightly more expensive couch that’s made out of more durable materials that will last longer so it’s really cheaper in the long run, but occasionally I can convince myself to the beautiful couch that’s on deep discount so it’s a good bargain and I know it’ll make my life more pleasant.
