Beginning of March I was honored to attend the opening of the Milan Design Triennial. While I learned a lot from the exhibition and the city and her citizens, I loved capturing to that never ending library of books I wnat to read but realistically wont have the time or language to ever get around to do so. IF you have read any of these books, lets share and exchange notes?

And long live libraries, bookstores, bookshelves and other types of repositories for information and beauty, wherever we may find them.

Innovation Lab in Panama with Marcelo Iniarra

Had the pleasure of traveling to Panama to be part of an Innovation Lab Workshop with Marcelo Iniarra (link)

We got to imagine many new ideas on how to reach new audiences using the power of the arts, technologies and its creative applications with a group of innovators working across Latinoamerica saving children’s lives.
Got to meet Sergio Feferovich, who led the group through a creative musical journey and made us all understand how listening, rhythm and tone, are very important in every work we do, even if we are not musicians. …

Hope this week was very productive and rewarding for you.
Thank you for reading this inventory.

Good Morning!

It’s been a while since I’ve sent out this newsletter and I appreciate that you might take the time to read it.

As an update, I will share the feature interview that New York Foundation for the Arts shared on their website, a conference I was fortunate to attend at Brown University and another one at the MIT MediaLab.

Here are just some notes I gathered from my notebook, it’s just a small sample of the many things I learned and stuck in my head. …

360' + 5
365 days after the Met MediaLab closed, the people and communities who were an invaluable part of it are still connected — not just to the Met but to the fabric of the city. Thank you for being part of that community.

Starting October 1st, I’m setting out with an amazing team of collaborators to prototype new experiences and interactions at a couple sites around New York City.

During my time as a researcher at Columbia University’s Brown Institute for Media Innovation, I explored how to apply immersive storytelling to social transformation and to further our understanding of climate change and the tools we can use to adapt to it. …

Materials for the Arts exhibition in yesterday’s New York Times

As many of you know, the Met MediaLab was in a space on the 5th floor that used to be the Met’s slide library. Before all the images were digitized, the staff, teachers and other researchers could come checkout 35mm slide images of the Met’s collections and exhibitions. But what to do with all these analog images once they had been digitized and the images were accesible in other ways.

Reaching out to Materials for the Arts and colaborating with them and the artists we invited, there were many ideas to give these slides a new life. Thousands of slides were packed by Julia at the MediaLab and then were donated to their warehouse in Long Island City. Materials for the Arts (MFTA) collects surplus materials and redistributes them, for free, to public schools & nonprofits with arts programming. …
