No, I don’t mean bungee jumping or doing something extreme to overcome your fear of spiders. What I have in mind can give you back more.

Often when we think of doing things that scare us we think of examples like the two mentioned above. They aren’t bad examples but they’re not the only ones. In my opinion they don’t offer much in return either.

Other examples of scary things could be anything that challenges us to be better people. Something that will make us better after we’ve done it, for example:

  • That project that’s been offered to us that we didn’t take because we felt comically unprepared. Maybe we are, maybe we aren’t.
  • Changing that personality trait that we possess and don’t like but we’re afraid of what people will think when we change.

Fear can lead to inactivity. When we fear something we avoid any action that could put us face to face with that fear. It’s important to look inside to see if there’s any aspect of our lives where fear has taken control. Once we identify them, we can start to take control back. Take back the power that belonged to us from the start.

Anyway, what are your thoughts? Let me know :)
