Trade-off means that by getting something we’re giving something else in return. When we want to accomplish something we have to be aware of what that will ask of us. Once we know the trade-off, we decide wether it’s worth doing or not.

If we choose to go left, we’re choosing to NOT go right.

When we decide to get out of work late, we’re also deciding to spend less time with people important to us. If we decide to be sour over something, we’re deciding to not see the good things that are happening constantly around us, etc.

Sometimes we think we can go both left and right, we say “I’ll go left, and after that, I’ll go right”. This can be done, although not always. Still, by deciding to spend time going both left and right we’ve decided to not go straight ahead, or back, or any other direction; or maybe we’ve just decided to have less free time.

Once we realize this, it’s easier to decide what to do. When it’s clear what we’re giving in order to get what we’re after we’ll be able to see if we really want it or not.

Anyway, these we’re some of my thoughts on trade-offs. What do you think? Agree or disagree? Let me know!

The comic for this thought is here!
