The Strange Feeling of ‘Not Being Anywhere’

It’s been almost a year since I wrote my first post in Medium.

Do I feel surprised? Not at all.

Like many other artists, I am just like that sometimes. I grab fresh ideas and let them dry as they were flowers in the summer. To be fair, it’s not that I get bored of them, it’s just that I cannot spend my time with all the things I would like to do.

I was supposed to start writing a few days ago, but it’s been so much going on and until now it didn’t feel like it was the moment to do so. Just to let you know, I’ve moved to England for a few months (I no longer have a great job and I need to work on a few personal projects), but my head is still in someplace between home and this new city called Nottingham.

I still haven’t seen much of it; just a few streets, a Thai restaurant, two supermarkets and the university that is next to where I am staying. It’s a student residence with six rooms per floor, two big bathrooms and a kitchen that seems like it has seen better days.

It’s such a strange feeling being here, as if I shouldn’t (because technically I shouldn’t, but I don’t want to explain this in case I put someone I love in trouble). I walk through the corridors trying not no make a noise, I have a shower as quickly as possible and cook meals when I am almost sure the other students will not use the kitchen.

It’s such a strange feeling being here, as if I weren’t.

Of course, today there are some clouds in the sky, but I would like to get out of the building after lunch. You know… sometimes it just feels like something way too bigger than it actually is, but I am sure I can do it (in spite of the little cold I think I am catching…). I just need to breathe a few times before.

See you soon, I’ll tell you everything later.
