How successful climbers think
From raw skin, to finger injuries, i have not pushed my body this hard in a long time. I am pretty much on the verge of over training. It really hits you hard when your skin is raw and you slip off a sandpaper-ish kind of hold and I might have spewn some expletives in those instances hahahahaha forgive me.
Recovery has never been more important since i almost always have less than a day to recover, for climbing the next day. Was just introduced to Crimp Oil by Mike and i am religiously rubbing my fingers with them. To be honest. Nope, don’t feel much different. Gotcha!!! Just when you thought this was gonna be a sponsored post. Probably not giving my fingers any time to recover at all to be able discern its effectiveness anyway.

The reason why i am willing to take all this pain is because i have found much fulfilment in climbing lately. I go through every training session telling myself to apply the following principles. They are not mutually exclusive, but if i could break them down it would look something like this.
- Try FUCKING hard.
Whoops my remorse from the first paragraph has worn out.
2. Concentrate on the task at hand.
3. Persist.
“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but picking ourselves up every time we fall” ~ Batman’s Dad. And Confucius. I personally feel that this is the most important quality of the three.
As long as i have applied these principles within a session, i am successful regardless of my performance. Im pretty sure that applying these principles consistently through training sessions will get you tangible results too, if your definition of success differs from mine.
Or maybe i just need a coping mechanism from falling so much these days
