I think there are a lot of good examples here of what I would call the American neofascist narrative. The core idea is that we are in a perpetual state of race war, and that the white Christians are the people who will be forgotten no more, oppressed no more. Both of these are based on a collective paranoid delusion that creates enough fear and hatred to motivate support of the masses and intimidate political opponents in its effort to consolidate the power of the state in service of white Christian supremacy. The facts about politics in America are very different. The independent media continues to report, the FBI and the NSA continue to investigate and the Courts and the Congress will eventually stop the American neofascist movements’ conspiracy to subvert American democracy that started with the high crimes of treason through collaboration with a foreign power’s intelligence agency to steal the Presidential election, then continued to conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice and now has become an all-out war on the First Amendment and Civil Rights, while manically trying to satiate the greed of oil companies, private mercenary armies, and all the organs of the Trump Organization. So, the fight over transgender bathrooms is just one small part of the ongoing effort to sustain the neofascist American political order.
