Pretzel Bun Breakfast

Pretzel buns changed burgers in ways I could not have foreseen. I am a big burger fan. Bacon, mayo, tomatoes, avocado, a little too much ketchup, and a lot of gooey cheese and you have a delicious meal to fill you up for hours. We have had our share of burgers, having tried most of the large chains around. Our favorite is by far still In-n-Out, though once we had the pretzel buns everything changed. It started at WholeFoods when we saw the pretzel buns, which prompted choosing our ideal ingredients for a burger. In addition to the bun we chose the Sir Kensington’s Mayo and ketchup for condiments. The Tillamook Mild Cheddar cheese slices, tomatoes, avocado, applewood smoked bacon, and a slice of lettuce. Now for the meat, which others would argue is the most important part of the burger was chosen by the meat guy at WholeFoods which packed the burger package; we likely chose organic beef. At the time, we lived in an apartment complex with a community grill which got fairly busy during the weekends, especially on July 4th weekend. While we weren’t lucky enough to have reserved the grill for peak afternoon hours, we did wake up early in the morning (read: around 10am) and grilled our delicious burgers. Given the time of day we had them, they’ve naturally been dubbed our “Breakfast Sandwiches”. Check out that awesomeness :).
