Once A Learner, Always A Learner
The weather is changing, Halloween is upon us, and in education — the honeymoon is over. You know all of their names, and the little quirks that make your students unique. It’s back to business. As you tackle the job of educating the masses, don’t forget that you have some learning to do as well.
Texas educators must renew their certification every five years; over the course of those five years teachers are expected to earn a minimum of one hundred and fifty continuing professional education (CPE) hours through an approved CPE provider. You must maintain written documentation of all CPE required activities; TEA provides a tracking sheet for teachers to record their hours.
Sounds fun, right?? Below are some upcoming local CPE options, as well as online modules.

Online Options:
TexasGateway.org is an excellent website that offers online professional development courses, as well as resources that are immediately usable in the classroom. You do have to register with a valid school email address; however, once signed up you have access to a wealth of online resources and the ability to complete some of your CPE hours online at your own pace.
Meadowscenter.org is another great resource for teachers. In addition to online courses, the site also has a library of informational materials for teachers.
Building Capacity RTI — Online modules that focus on Tiered intervention; these modules address tier 1, 2, and 3.
