Interesting enough but totally irrelevant. The US constitution specifically states that is not to have an established religion and does not claim to be a ‘Catholic’ country so there is no reason whatsoever that anyone should assume that the government or it’s political parties would line up with Catholic doctrine, even if all Catholics agreed on Catholic doctrine. How the country is run is suppose to be about civil government and not about religious government. Want to live in a country run according to Catholic Church doctrine, go to the Vatican which is run by the church. Hopefully the US will never be a country that is run in accordance with any religious doctrine as the basis for government since to do so would mean the Constitution and the rights it guarantees would have ceased to exists.
