Letter to 18-year-old me.

This is a series of blog posts I start writing. At the moment, I think I will write one every year. Let’s see. Hope you enjoy it!
Today I will write a letter to 18-year-old me. In the future, I will write a letter for “1-year-ago” myself, just to keep track what I have learned with one year.
Years have gone by. A lot have changed since you were 18-year-old. Who would have guessed that you are there where you are today? Not me. But overall, everything is going well and towards your main goals. I have finished university, I am married and I have one awesome kid. And I blog constantly and grow my branding agency. And I am still persistent to achieve my dream(s).
Here are the lessons which would be useful knowing then. I don’t regret anything because there’s no point of that, but the purpose of this is to just store valuable lessons and knowledge.
– Do not worry about small things. See life in the bigger picture.
– Start enjoying every day.
– Watch what you eat. Seriously.
– Do more psychical activity. Run. Go to the gym. Play football. Whatever. Your body is your temple.
– Value your time. Time is the most precious resource we have. Use it wisely. Every day. Always.
– Create more connections. Meet new people. University is the best place for that. Interact more. Our net worth depends largely on our network size.
– Read books. Every day.
– Absorb new valuable information from everywhere — books, videos, articles, courses, blogs. Personal development is the key to successful life.
– Start writing down your ideas, thoughts.
– Be more confident. Do not fear anything!
– See the world whenever possible. Experiences matter more than material things.
– Start making real steps. Create your business. Make new opportunities.
– You can’t see ahead all steps. Just let the life unfold itself in front of you. But you have to do something for that to happen!
My life would probably be a lot different when I would have known these things when I was 18-year-old (which was ~5 years ago). But I am happy that I have learned these lessons for now. Better late than never. And you can’t know everything from the beginning. You need to learn, step-by-step. And I have done that successfully.
I’m thankful that I had the opportunity to read some books which changed my mindset and I had persistent to keep learning.
What have you learned within latest years? Or what you would have loved to know when you were 18 years old?
Do you like this kind of letters? Please, let me know 🙂
