Those Entry-Level Startup Jobs? They’re Now Mostly Dead Ends in the Boondocks
Lauren Smiley

As a former bay-area dweller now living in the Charlotte metro-area, I am happy I escaped from the craziness. Bay Area wages are not keeping up with the insanely rising cost of living. Charlotte is a great city, full of cool start-ups and opportunities. I moved here for personal reasons, but I think if I worked for a tech company that would have paid for my move out here, I would have taken it. As other commenters have said, there is more to life than the SF-centric start-up scene. Visit the rest of the country — they have cool stuff going on with much more reasonable expectations.
