Really appreciated a lot in this article, but I’m not really clear on why clubgoers voguing in 1977 is such an unbelievable thing. A lot of historians of the house and ballroom scene indicate that people in the have been participating in voguing competitions and battles since the early 70s. They also indicate that the clubs were where they went to practice and perfect their art.
