Engaging the Cuban People: Here’s What President Obama Will Be Doing in Cuba
Ben Rhodes

Thank you, President Obama! As a Cuban American, it brings great joy to finally see a relationship established with the country of Cuba and with its people! I had the amazing honor to travel to Cuba, with UCLA’s School of Nursing, on December 17, 2014 — a significant and historic day, not only for me, but for my people. I was overcome with many emotions as I finally landed in Havana, Cuba. As news traveled of communication between the United States and Cuba, the island erupted with great happiness. I could feel the positive energy and joy as I know you will too. Thank you for being the first sitting President to visit the island in over 90 years and thank you for having the courage to try something diffrent than your predecessors!
