Here are 5 simple ways to spice up your hair to enjoy the holiday!

4th of July is the perfect time to get out in the sun and enjoy time with family while celebrating the USA.

Tip # 1

Single Braid + Cute Ribbon Embellishment

#4thofJulyHair

When beginning your braid, take red, white, and blue ribbons and attach them via bobby pin to the base of your braid. Each hair section should have a ribbon in it. This way when as you braid, there will be a beautiful USA touch! If you have remaining ribbon at the end of your braid, you can leave them loose or tie them into a bow.

Tip # 2

Multiple Braids + Creative Ribbon Embellishment

#RedWhite&Bluehair

Split your hair in 2 or more sections to braid. They can be 2 braids like pigtails, or they can be 2 smaller braids that start at your temples and meet in the back to merge into a single braid.

When beginning your braid, take red, white, and blue ribbons and attach them via bobby pin to the base of your braid. Each hair section should have a ribbon in it. Where the birds merge or end, the leftover ribbon can form a cute bow!

Tip # 3

Simple and Sassy Bandana

#USAhair

By adding a cute 4th of July themed bandana, your look is immediately on the next level.

The best way to tie the bandana is by folding it first diagonally, it should look like a triangle. Then begin folding it longways starting at the top of your triangle until it is an even strip. Your next step is to hold the bandana behind your head and bring the ends together on top of your head or slightly off center. Next tie either a bow or a knot on top depending on the length of your bandana. Combine bandana with a loose ponytail, messy bun, low braid, or even with your hair down; you will look fantastic! If you you have bangs they will look adorable, and if you don’t you can always brush a few longer pieces of hair over the bandana by your ears.

Tip # 4

Bows, Bows, & more Bows!

#RedWhite&Bows

Though often overlooked, an easy way to add some color and fun to your look it to add a bow! You can buy a pre-made clip-in bow for easy use. If you don’s have a clip-in bow, you can use ribbon.

If you have a ponytail or pigtails you can tie a red, white, blue ribbon around them into a bow. You can every tie all 3 together for even more patriotic color! If your hair is down, you can still rock a bow!

If you do not have a clip-in bow, you can still achive the look with a bobby-pin and your ribbons. The trick is to tie the ribbons in a knot through a bobby-pin. Then tie a bow and you can slide them any where into your hair and look fabulous!

Tip # 5

Flower & Star Crowns

#StarSpangledHair

Want to get extra creative? Go to a crafts store and pick up red, white and blue flowers or stars to stick in your hair! This will look great when used sparingly in a french or dutch braids.

Another style this would compliment would be a crown braid. To achieve this look you start a french or dutch braid on the left side of your head by your ear. You work your way braiding by the crown of your head all the way to the right ear. You then bobby-pin the left over hair behind your ear. If you have thicker hair you can repeat the process by creating another braid crossing from the right ear to the left ear. You can repeat this again to have 3 braids across the crown of your head. Then place with bobby-pins the little flowers and/or stars. You will look fantastic and have the benefit of keeping your hair out of your face while you enjoy the 4th!
