Read the report “2015 Pulse of the Profession. Capturing the Value of Project Management” by PMI mentioned in the What Went Right section, page 194 of the 8th Edition of the book. Summarize the key points on this study and your opinion of it. Describe some specific steps organization can take to provide a supportive culture for project management.

2015 Pulse of the Profession:

The strategies on making a single management projects requires the alignment on social and business aspects that could give a big contribution for the success of one. Quality is more profound than having the quantity. Specifically and base-data surveys often gives enough guide to make success in management projects. It says that one must cope up to improve their abilities to execute strategy; PMI plays a big role on this aspect.

Surveying for about 2,800 global professionals only 12% of organizations were considered to be high performers. These are persons who used to make an effort provided for the call of their duty. Any competitive advantage is required to excel not only on improving such management projects and create a big difference.

· Write a short paper based on the chapter’s opening case. Answer the following questions (Information Technology Project Management, 7e, page 140, Opening Case):

A. What do you think the problem was in this case?

o The problem in this case is that in managing the large project, it had been under way for three years and had already gone through three different project managers. Nick did not follow certain rules to uplift more of his duty and success.

B. Does the case present a realistic scenario? Why or why not?

o Yes, the case present is a realistic scenario because it implies and gives us more information and examples happening to real-life situation specially on a business and project management. The unnecessary and mistakes, the success and failures and people whose behind it.

C. Was Nick Carson a good project manager? Why or why not?

o At first, he’s been a good project manager because he had all the technical background to make the project success, but because of his negligence important advices and it brought him to a low-stage if his performance and did not have any value for other’s complaints to improve his duty.

D. What should top manager have done and help Nick?

o The top management shou;d help Nick by putting him in the position aligned with his capabilities and passion.

E. What could Nick have done to be a better project manager?

o He should focus on managing all aspects of the project, became passionate to about his duty and perform the work of project manager a good one.
