The Rocket

[…] Sketch is a vector drawing application intended for screen design which has become the go-to software for user interface design.

Its popularity is due to the fact that it allows us to design different screens and states for a single application next to each other (instead of in different windows/documents); making it easy to have every detail of the application conveniently laid out in front of us, in one single document.

I have never tried Sketch (https://www.sketchapp.com/) before. I used to play with Illustrator or Photoshop for helping others to create logos or just for fun. I consider myself a photography lover so I’m used to work with their tools for editing photos and personal design creations.

So my first steps into Sketch has been focused on a login screen design of an App. I could insert any image as a logo so I picked one of my designs. This one was created as a proposal which was about designing a logo to represent my city (Rota, Cádiz) through a sustainable environment insight.

For the second exercise I had to design The Rocket, all about shapes and layout. I also added a different background color in a copy just to see new perspectives.

The result !

Once I finished I realized that I spent 2 hours building… a rocket… (laughs). Practice is the key, for sure.

Can’t wait to manage the Visual Design Exercise!
