Sliding walls — Useful solution to solve space problems
Sliding walls are used to divide a large room into two smaller rooms or more. They are made with wall panels that can be assembled easily. The sliding wall concept is different from a fixed wall wherein once installed the wall remains fixed and immovable from end to end. Due to the sliding nature of the walls, the wall can make way for original room space.
A well-designed Skjutväggar can add aesthetic value to your room; however, the wall has to meet requirements in the room. Minimum of three panels are used to make a sliding wall. The maximum number of panels used are as many as the width of the sliding wall permits. The total number of panels required depends upon the height and width of the opening where you want to place the wall. It is also important to decide how the panels are going to operate in the sliding wall.
There are many ways of creating a strikingly beautiful sliding wall. The väggpanel inomhus are available in many materials and surface finishes. You can choose your favourite colour, design or material to enhance the look of the room. You can match the colour of the sliding wall with the other walls in the room. The other option is to give the wall a unique look so that that side stands out like a painting. Once the panels are in place, you will see a beautifully designed sliding wall. If you want light and a feeling of space in the area you can opt for glazed effect. Glass walls are not only effective room dividers but can also be used to enhance the aesthetics in the room.
Once ready, the väggpanel inomhus are mounted on a frame. The material and finish of the frame can be customised as per your choice. The panels are secured to the frame with locking pins. The sliding wall has ball bearing wheels to enable easy sliding of the panels to close or open positions. You can have the rails fixed on the floor or at the ceiling and the wheels are likewise attached at the bottom side or at the top to ensure they can slide easily. Generally, rails are recommended at the ceiling as that ensures that the floor remains free and clean. Proper sealing is required between the panels, at the free end, doors and windows if any in the sliding wall, to ensure that acoustics are in place and not compromised.
When the panels are in closed position, the Skjutväggar is fixed and flush, however in open position the panels are folded or stacked as per the design. In the open position, the room size is as before the wall was installed. The folded and stacked profiles of the sliding wall do not consume space. Provision for access doors and windows made in the design stage are added to the wall during installation.
The panels in the sliding wall are light-in-weight, easy-to-mount and easy-to-operate. The final design of the sliding walls must strike a balance between specific requirement and creativity. Sliding walls have use in homes or offices to create aesthetic space.
