Walk the Talk.
A few months ago I realized there was a pattern with the high functioning leaders I met with one-on-one. None of the meetings took place in an office or coffee shop or your typical enclosed space. Instead, all of them requested to go on hour-long walks. What a difference it makes! And now, whenever possible, I try and do the same.
Why the walking meeting, you ask? Seven yeses why!
1. florescent light vs. sunlight (vitamin d)
2. stale air vs. fresh air (oxygen from our tree friends)
3. four walls vs. no walls (no limits)
4. face-to-face vs. side-by-side (instant camaraderie)
5. sitting still vs. exercise (work that bod!)
6. plugged in electronics vs. off the grid (in the moment)
7. coffee stimulation vs. walking stimulation (nothing beats au natural energy)
Our greatest inspiration is and has always been Mother Nature. We constantly try to emulate her in our thinking, design, strategy, etc. Might as well embrace and include her in on the meeting. Bet she’ll find a way to stimulate and invigorate your chat as you breathe in her scenery and she breathes life into you.
A special high five to Aristotle for being the OG trendsetter.
