User Research through surveys
I think that an interviewee’s environment affects their survey responses if their environment is comfortable is open and natural to them. If they feel uncomfortable being interviewed then their responses might not be as accurate as one might hope for. If for instance they are being interviewed in their work office, I think it would be much more comfortable for them to be in a space with minimal outside interruptions.
When I worked on my survey questions I was thinking about the type of person that might want to use my app. Are they are person that is new to Toronto? or a Toronto native? Are they interested in history and architecture in general?
I am wondering if my 12 questions will give me enough background about the types of users that would wanna use my product.
My interviews went pretty well and everyone has their own take on what they would do if they went to a historical site and how they would wanna process that information. I think that if you give people the type of information they would want in a way thats visually appealing and interactive then they are more likely to be engaged overall. Some people didn’t want to give very detailed answers but I can get the gist of what they are saying enough to make a persona out of my ideal user.
