I am a Woman. You are a Trans Woman. And That Distinction Matters.

Saying trans women shouldn’t have access to women’s spaces implies trans women aren’t women. As a trans person, I couldn’t even get through this whole article. It’s so upsetting that a self-declared “ally” thinks this is okay. Trans women ARE women. Of course you don’t have to sleep with anyone that you don’t want to sleep with — that is always the case with all genders, but it is dangerous for trans women to be forced into the men’s room, or men’s dressing room. Trans women face high rates of physical and sexual assault. This whole article implies that we are a danger to women. That is incorrect. We are women.
