Interesting. The numbers are frightening. However; I’m definitely surfing a social surge — the “Slow Web” movement. I nailed it years ago. I can brew a cup of coffee (or, gulp, catch up on a read) while my circa 2007 Dell laptop boots up and of my two cellphones (one for here and one for there)only one is “smart,” it’ll take a fuzzy photo. When I need more than text and phone service; if it can’t wait for the aforementioned Dell to boot up, it ain’t worth waiting for. Want to chat; share something with me? Shoot me an email or a phone call. I’ll always get back to you. Social media? Reminds me of a group of pot smokers; they’re all sharing and connecting through the weed, but outside the circle a vast emptiness. At least they get a buzz out of it.
